This hookup got started in Reports section: some action recently at Moss near the Jaws, wind and waves look good, I'm headed there on Wed. morning about 6.

Here we are at the All-Star break and I'm batting 000 on salmon, 000 on halibut, 100 on lings, make that "ling", about 150 on rockies. Like every other player, I've got a bunch of explanations.

I'll do my best to make it. I'll check channel 69 if I make it. I have to do some canning tonight, the fruit won't last until I get back in a week.

UPDATE: I can definately can't make it. Look forward to report for my launch thursday.

This is very tempting. How far south is Moss from SC?
Hmmm...fish for salmon then head to work...decisions--decisions.

Moss is about a half hour south of Santa Cruz at 60-65mph. Look for the two giant smoke stacks, turn before them.
The last I heard, it's trolling hootchies, purple haze (looks light pink to me)is popular, behind a purple or other flasher; as well as watermelon(WMA) or silver apexes, rotary salmon killers (RSK)and Franko Bullet Rotators(FBR)(to hold anchovy and spin it) .  If the fish are shallow, an apex behind an 8 oz banana sinker works for trolling.   As a sinker release, either the usual spring loaded one or a Fish Lazer flasher/ sinker release.
For mooching, I like to thread the anchovy with a long needle so the hook is near the head and it kind of hangs down.
Bring a big net if you have one, and plenty of warm clothes/rubber: It's been overcast for several days, but it's not down on the water. Hope you can make it.

I'm packed and loaded. assuming I can get up, I'll be there pretty early.
but have to be out of there fairly early too. got some work to do tomorrow.

not sure which side to launch from this year, haven't seen the new ramp,
only launched from the north side before.

six-five-oh two-two-four twenty-two-ninety.
