Any input would be appreciated.  Had to warranty my Hook 5 that kicked the bucket out of nowhere.  I have store credit at West Marine now and I’m looking to upgrade.  Thanks in advance.

I have a Hook 5 and a Helix 5 and the Helix isn't my favorite finder.  It works fine, but I got spoiled by the ability to customize the Hook 5 display (original Hook, not the Hook2) - especially the overlay data.

On the plus side, you can make your own maps with the Helix and you don't have to post them to Lowrance to be able to download and use them.

I'm guessing there isn't a lot of difference between a Helix 5 and a Helix 7, but I could be mistaken.  I've been mistaken before now, once, back in 1997...

Don't know anything about the Raymarine

Thanks for the input.  I really did like my hook 5, did the job just fine, too bad it decided to kick the bucket.  Seeing as how the Hook5 was my first unit, I’m excited to get a sonar with the side scan, should be fun.

I absolutely love my element 7 but have no experience with a hummingbird. Easy to use, customizable, and so far it’s been durable. I can compare it to a lowrance hook and hook2 and it is night and day better.
