Any good, general, locations for crabbing in Shelter Cove? Close enough for kayaks?
Thanks!

Anywhere over sand East and East-southeast of the launch (yes, east).  The sand can shift around, best plan is to look where the other traps are set and drop nearby.

“Yes, East” - still a difficult one to wrap my head around even after going there for years.

I tend to ignore the true directional co’ords and just think of it as uphill and downhill, and how far offshore.

Traditionally the crabs are gathered near the coast guard buoy S.E. from the launch about 1mile.
Unfortunately,
The mass has not shown as of yet. Overnight soaks have brought about 5-10 a pot, while day soaks while fishing has produced 1-5 crabs for the lucky few.
The party boats are doing well with overnight soaks 3-5 miles down and out in deeper water.
I have dropped my pots every few days since the opener, and still no improvement for day soaking. Hopefully it will change soon  .... Good News is, the few in the traps have all been of commercial quality.
