I have the green light for getting otw on Sunday.  I'm looking for a spot to get into some browns and bows in a "quiet" lake/reservoir.  Has anyone been to stumpy lately and have any words of advice?  I've never been.  I'm in Roseville so if there are better places to go that are similar or closer....thanks

Soooooo....I have not been to either place yet but

Which is a better spot for a quick day trip

Stumpy Meadows
or
Sugar Pine?

I will be primarily targeting trout from my kayak even though I read that each hold bass.  I'll have my spinning, casting and fly gear with me for the trip.  I plan to be up there mid morning through the afternoon.  Hopefully I will see one or more of you out there

I paddle and do not pedal if that makes a difference.  I'll be driving from Roseville and I can see each received a plant this year and each are about the same driving time.

Ended up at Sugar Pine from noon to dusk.  I saw one boat and two kayaks on the water.  Couldn't make contact with the kayaks so don't know if they are fellow members.  I fished the entire Reservoir

Caught one small bass near the dam and no trout.  The boat said they had started trolling at 10 and had zero bites.

I saw a lot of trout tails rising to the surface but none of them liked what I was offering.  They are there so someone with more skill than I will have some luck especially after 3pm when the lake was more alive (shadows started to fill the banks)

On a side note, I left my paddle on the dock and didnt realize it until I got home.  I wont be able to get back up there and by now I am sure someone has it.  If you found a paddle let me know (its a vibe kayak paddle)
