13 foot kayak instead of 16 foot, newer seat design weighs a lot less.  Those are all reasons I'm thinking about.
Understood. If you don't mind, let me list a few other points just for thoughts...
For ~$2k, you get a full sailing kayak;
You can choose to put a motor on it;
3 extra ft is not all that different in terms of storage or transport, but if you can't store another kayak, then not much you can do. (I own both Revo 13 and AI. I used my Revo 13 a total of two times this year due to not willing to risk beach launching the AI w/ motor.);
AI has extra capacity and stability;
You can mod a boat seat for around ~$100. It's no less comfortable than the new hobie seat;
A revo 13 is only marginally lighter than the AI w/o amas;
And last but not least, save headaches of having to locate/order parts, and no need to mod the kayak (although modding can be fun).  :smt003

I have both the AI and Revo 13 as well. It depends on the year, but I think older, pre-2015 model AI's are significantly lighter.

For my Revo 13 (2010-11), I can carry it on my shoulder and pretty much do laps around my car. For my AI (2017), not so much.

Yes, it's true that pre-2015 is lighter. But note that it is "lighter", not "light".

From what I can find, just the hull weight is 20 pounds more on the 2015, as compared to my 2014, and I gotta believe the other changes adds about that much more again, so it's a pretty significant weight penalty just to have a lawn chair seat...

When I was shopping for new TI/AI I did lots of research. Going through my notes, 2015 vs 2014 AI is 142 lbs vs. 86 lbs fully rigged.

I like the lawn chair seat. I sat in a 2014 AI for about a minute. Felt like sitting in a bucket. But it was lighter than the 19 AI I test drove.
