Shrimping Outer Bay of Bodega Question

Has anyone ever tried to catch shrimp while fishing crab?  A retired Fish and Game officer told me to attach a shrimp trap to my crab pots while they are soaking. 50 + fow.   With my gear the deepest I can fish is 100'.

He says the Coon Shrimp is in shallow out to 600'  Any thoughts on this?

Happens up here in Humboldt some years but not all when coonstripes are in thick.  A baited crawdad trap on top of your crab trap will catch them.

I remember a thread about this way way back around Bodega.

I have only seen them fished for at Cordell banks. I think it's only a deep water thing around here.

I've been wanting to give it a try both for spot prawns deep in Monterey Bay and coonstripes elese where.

I’ve read of folks pulling spot prawns from the canyon edges in Monterey Bay, but that’s DEEP water. I hope you have strong arms!
