Hey all! I just recently purchased a Hobie PA which I take in the bay a ton (Alameda Rockwall) I was wondering if anyone has any input on how the PA performs in the ocean. I was thinking of hitting up Pillar Point Harbor when the conditions are well, but wanted to check first anything I should be aware of. Thanks!

might be a bit heavy for the ocean and challenging with surf launches/landings. But my guess is it would be pretty stable once you're out there.

A bit big and slow. But you will be fine in those locations. Beach launch,in the surf.. Not so much.

Seems like a lot of the San Diego yellowtail guys fish off PAs. So depending on conditions, might be doable??

Ie. Bring it to La Jolla and go chase some YT!

We have a 14 and 12. They're heavy but stable. Took ours out in the ocean this week and we're fine. An outback would be easier to peddle for sure but probably a bit more wet.

I take my pa14 out for rock fish and salmon. Avoid surf launches and your will be good. It's not a fast boat but its stable! Go get em'!
