I just joined this forum, and I’m looking for recommendations for halibut fishing near The Sister. I’ve never kayak fished in the Bay before.

Welcome...after 10 posts you'll be able to see where the halibut might be in the bay.  The Sisters off of San Rafael have rare if any halibut results but I bet there is a time of year that they are there but I'm not sure the concentration or spawning activity that happens there.  Give it a whirl and be sure to report.  We'd love to know... :smt006

Yeah, there's halibut there.

Although much better places to go hunting for them.  The Sisters are pretty exposed to the south wind that can rip through the area.  You'll also deal with the ferries and boats that fly through the area.  If you go, then don't go alone and be safe.

My commercial buddy knew when to be there last year late in the season and picked up a 27lber...he called it an old commercial trick...

Sean (fishboundsa) and I were not far from there a week ago and caught about 1/2 dozen halibut.
So they're definitely in that part of the bay, all the way to Vallejo.

Never caught any above, but never really worked that area.
Rod n Gun club area is productive as well
