We live in Sonoma county and just bought our first kayak. Would love some ideas of where to go! We’ve been up to Mendocino to Big River but that’s it. Okay with driving but within an hour would be awesome! We have a dachshund too that will join us but she doesn’t need water to swim in!

Welcome!

Plenty of fun spots to paddle and fish up there...Fort Ross, Timber Cove, Ocean Cove, Stillwater Cove....

Lot of folks on here live and fish up that way so I'm sure you will get plenty of good info.

Welcome to NCKA. Sonoma coast is awesome. Like BigJim said Fort Ross, Timber Cove, Ocean Cove and Stillwater Cove are very popular and great.

Welcome Whittwit! So many choices as a Sonoma County local! You may notice our popularity is a bit of a problem, well known fishing spots are overwhelmed with out of towners on the weekends with kooks clogging launch ramps, keeping every little fish that swims and not knowing or following regulations- Find some spots care for them and enjoy yourself.

I have been a member here for a while but will be living full time in Sonoma county soon and am also looking for new fishing places.  I wish I coulda made the RR shad bite this year but am looking forward to the Steelies  this winter
