Figured I’d give y’all the progress report on the custom trailer I was building when I got “crashed on”.
Another day or so of welding and grind off the sharp edges and hopefully I’ll be painting it Sunday. Got the spare tucked today, and welded on the wire “armor”. Still need to make load assist bars but there super easy.

Nice! But one recommendation: move the rear axle back, to the rear 1/3 of the trailer; will minimize trailer sway....

The tongue is in its retracted position it pulls out to the point where the silver bar hits the back of the red receiver tube. It’s at 60/40 for the deck. It will have a hitch pin to keep it in the extended position, he has a 15ft storage unit to park it in so the tongue needs to go in. Not a fan of the swing aways.

Side view tongue retracted.

Edit: I’ll take an extended tongue side view tomorrow.

Got it out the door today new owner was very pleased with how it turned out and I test towed it on 101 at 75 empty behind the Subaru, very happy with its tracking of the tow vehicle.

That’s a sweet build. I’m wishing I have the space for one.

Just gotta get creative, a storage unit is where this one will reside after its first trip this coming weekend to Idaho, that’s why the retractable tongue ( don’t know if you should google that one either). Last one before that was narrower for a tight fit in a garage.
