Just into'd myself the other day, no time like to the present to start posting reports.  Launched from San Quentin Beach, and fished from the prison to mid-bridge, on the edge of the Corte Madera channel.  3 shorts, 1 12lb keeper, and a few striped baits in about 4hours.   Ive been getting a lot of shorts the last few trips, basically 3:1 lately.  The bigger fish are there though.  Started at the crack.... of 8:00am... till about noon.  The wind picked up and just made it uncomfortable in my basic rig.

I dragged frozen anchovies, on a standard halibut drifting rig.  All the fish I got I hooked were in about 10-12ft of water.  There were a decent amount of bigger boats working an area closer to the main channel, and  further south.  They were straight out from Paradise Cay, in deeper water though.  Those boats were there there all day, so I assume they were picking away steadily.  Most of the fish I hooked were in a really tight area just on the edge of the channel.  Once I found them, I just worked the area until I came in.

There's definitely a lot fish in the water, just have to pick through the smaller ones.  I have buddies that did well on the beaches today, and even got them in Richardson bay as they stopped for a couple drifts before heading to the barn.

Thanks for the report, and pretty cool that your second post is a report...

I plan to  fish that area in the coming weeks. Did you catch any keeper stripers.

Nice going! I'm curious where you launch from? I tried this afternoon just around the corner near the rod and gun club... it was pretty windy and I ended up with nada...

The launch is on the south side of the SR bridge.  There's a beach you can roll your kayak down.

Jweb as simplecook said it’s right on the south side of the bridge.  I think I actually saw you drive past as I was loading up, and saw you  parked next to the rod and gun club.  The beach is called San Quentin beach.

Jmed, I’ve fished the area from cal city to the brothers a lot over the years, and there are a ton of stripers all through that area.  I’ve always targeted stripers north of the bridge and halibut in the south but that’s just personal preference.   If you are going to fish the area I was in, fish the bridge pilings for sure.  I’ve jigged up live bait next to the R&g pier and then fished under the bridge and killed them before.

There are really a lot of places to hit over there.  I’ve really just targeted halibut in the bay lately, but if I hear anything from my buddies about where they get into stripers I will let you know.
