After looking at a few kayak magazines, I noticed a lot of people standing up on their kayak to sight fish.
Since I am not one of great balance and I certainly do not want to test the laws of Mother Nature I was wondering; who here stands up on their kayak to fish?. If you do, what kind of kayak do you have? Have you had any mishaps while undertaking this kind of fishing?

Mr Matt was standing on a Marauder at BAM1.

And there's a pic of someone standing on their yak taking a leak somewhere on this site...lol.

My buddy who is 6'4" was fishing out of my hobie mirage tandem one day.  We were cruzin out by San Q.

He goes, "I'm gonna stretch my legs".  I'm thinking, ok, he's gonna side saddle or something.  He then stands on both gunwhales and f'ing pulls a karate kid move in the middle of the bay.  I'm thinking, i bet he wouldn't do it if we were fishing his tackle!!  Needless to say, he's got excellent kinesthetic sense.

My brother has also stood up on a yak in the bay.

Here is living proof of the standing attempt by Stu during the Memorial Service for the Chef where Stu went head first into the drink.

Success! But not fishing or catching

I'm not convinced.  Looks like he's standing on shore from that perspective.  Would need to confirm from opposite angle.  But then again, maybe not :smt012

And i'm not sure about posting such a pic, what with all the narcs on the board now... :smt003

Looks like I botched the pic upload for my post.  here it is again:

"
I cant stand up, but do kneel around to reach front and rear hatches.  Here is an index pic of short vid i shot of him standing.  I was sure he was gonna fall, but he had pretty good balance: "

I've stood to take a few casts while bass fishing at Anderson Dam.  I'm about 5'8 so I think I have a lower center of gravity than most  :smt001.  Boat was an OK Prowler.  I noticed I could also sit on top of the raised deck between the seat and the tankwell for reasonable sight/elevation and stability.
