I'm going to try Halibut fishing for the first time, getting my line wet around 7:30.  Don't know what I'm doing, but I'll give it a try. Planning to stay near the coast line, not to far out, new to the area.

Be safe. Look at the tides and when it starts getting choppy it's time to go. Good Luck out there!

Got out around 7:30 this morning, first time on the bay in a kayak. In the morning the water was a little on the choppy side, stayed close to the dock for a little while , then ventured out once my nerves settled down. My only kayaking experiences have been on the delta, lake and sloughs.

No fish, skunked ! trolled with frozen anchovies. There were 5 other kayakers on the bay near me, the ones that caught fish used live anchovies. I'll get out again, great first time experience.
