Per my last post in May on the perfect tide, the 23rd is the most ideal tide of the month for June and Duane is doing a bait run this Saturday so don't miss out.  There are a lot of shakers in ARW but it's a lot better than no fish at all.  It's only a matter of time before the bigger ones arrive.

As much as I want to go rockfishing, I need a halibut and you're right... this is a great tide.

I'm considering my options right now.  Seriously considering Paradise since I haven't been there yet this year.

However, if the bait man is going to be offering up the good stuff, I may have to join the party.

If we could get the baitman to Paradise?    it is a bit sheltered from the regular wind that blows through, hence= PARADISE.  I have been on a six-pack charter there before...SANDY and DEEP (we were in 30' and got a 15lbr)

Live-shinners available at LochLomond marina if need be!     IT CAN BE DONE!    whuts the consensus think?

Count me in for whichever place. Though I'm not sure where Paradise is exactly. Is that by the Brick Yard?   Is launch time about 6 am?  Gabe

I don't know if we can get Duane to Paradise but I have been trained by the master himself and am able to get bait but not at the same quantity (I have a small one, net that is) so no problems there but I would prefer to go with the Master himself.  Pssst, I'm playing hooky on Friday and will be on a friends boat in the afternoon and will have him pass by paradise to see if there is any action.  I have heard the stripers are in San Pablo Bay and some are being picked up outside the gate so it's not a bad bet.  I am also wondering if Crissy Field is producing and the tide is perfect on Saturday.  It may be the only time you can kayak that spot with live bait.  OK.  I'll try and recon Paradise and Crissy Field and let you know Friday night.  If I find a hot spot, Ill let you know.

I'd love to go but unfortunately I need to back out because of some other things that have come up.

Good luck to y'all.

Steve, the dam wind is pickin up on this side, but if we can launch from the Cay/yacht club(rock jetty) and paddle So. against the tide/wind and drift /bounce back?   can it be done?   or do we go all the way to paradise pier(need whls) and pay to park, can we launch from there?
I HATE fishin in the wind, but if its not too bad at first light(6:00)
, I'd be willin to make the journey from the E-side and hit mr.fraisers to get a few shnnrs. and back south to the cay( tiburon blvd.exit =left over freeway and follow signs\veer right to paradise dr. til you see the first little marina/yacht club(keep lookin down after about 7min of winding rd. and make your left down towards the water) thats where I've read it was O.K. to launch.
whuts your yhoughts if your still thinkin bout hittin it?

its windy on my side as well, but has been nice in the AM.
I'm thinking of launching from teh cay paddling to off the pilings, then drifting back in- wind shouldn't be too bad till about 11ish. doesn't make for  long day, but i got a lot of work to do around the house...
I'm targeting to be at the cay around 6:30- all dependent on Keith being at the shop at his normal 6ish this time of year....

i tell you what i'd really like to do, but need someone game-- is launch from somewhere on the east side of hte richmond-SR bridge and paddle to red rock...then drift those tasty shiners around...perhaps next weekend

POSTED ON COASTSIDE:

The wind was howling when we left Berkeley at 2:00pm. It was like trying to tack up hill to Duxbury on a bad day. Waves were 5x2 and our 21 ft boat was slammed hard against the waves. We eventually made it to South Hampton and 4 party boats were there. I picked up a shaker halibut on the first drift and that was it. After several drifts, we picked up no fish so we moved to Paradise to escape the wind and nothing there. Around 5:30 the wind calmed and we went to Red Rock, Berkeley Flats and South Hampton again and no fish around. It may be different tomorrow so good luck to you. Will try again on Sunday but the tides are perfect all weekend.

I don't know about wasting any time fishing the bay because the halibut/striped bass are MIA.  I heard about the Rodeo event but that water is treacherous for a yak.

I might just do San Pablo Dam because it's easier and cleaner than saltwater fishing.  Has anyone heard anything from Fishsniffer and/or Pier Fishing?  The fish have to be somewhere but where?
