Kayak Fishing Essential Skills and Accessories

Read the full article here --> https://thelostanchovy.com/kayak-fishing-essential-skills-and-accessories/

Kayak fishing is growing industry, in fact, it’s Booming!  There can be no doubt about that.  When I started fishing, over ten years ago, there were a handful of us. We were a tight knit community and information got around quickly. Fish were killed and we got them often.

As the sport grew, and the community matured, Kayak anglers can be seen scattered through out the bay and ocean. Some have organized clicks, while others enjoy fishing alone. (To each their own).  I’ve enjoyed meeting all the new faces but also know there are many out there, still on the fence, about joining our community and taking the plunge forward.

It’s scary. I know. You have a lot of questions.  You need a lot of answers. You want to catch fish. You want to be safe. You spent how much on that Kayak?

WHERE DO I BEGIN!!??

I’ve been there and I’ve done that.  I feel your reservations, because they were my own. So I’m excited to work with CCK (California Canoe and Kayak) to answer some of kayak fishing basic questions that I think us veterans take for granted.

I had a great time interviewing Sou from California Canoe and Kayak. We talked about Kayak Fishing Essential Skills and Accessories every angler should know and have when venturing on the ocean, bay, delta, river, or lakes. He shares his 15+ years of knowledge to those looking to get into the sport. So let’s get started!!

Here is a synopsis of the Interview

Introduction
Part 1: Kayak Fishing Essential Gear
Part II: Types of Kayaks
Part III: Essential Kayaking Skills
Part IV: Accessories
Part V: Kayak Attire
Closing

Every year we see stories of people needing to get rescued. People not prepared. I see a lot of people under prepared for the Ocean and Bays when i'm out there.  To each their own, but i think putting the information out there can't hurt. At least it shows we are trying to be responsible as a club.

Hope this helps those still on the fence about Kayak Fishing or needing a little more information before making the plunge.
Good Luck and tight lines -- TLA
