Silent Hunter is getting this Infinitely gifted to him by his grand parents as his first ride. Wanted some recommendations on a roof rack that could support up to 2 OK trident yaks.

There’s a sun roof on it so not sure if that will be an issue or not.

If not doable no biggie just seeing what the options are if any.

Thanks

Is that a mid 2000's Q45?
if so I haven't been able to find a compatible thule or yakima system. Might have to get creative :)

I use the Malone with the suction cups and seawing, I would haul two kayaks on it if I had two.

I've cartopped my Kraken for four years with this and the only issues I've had is water wicking and dripping in on the straps that secure inside the vehicle.  Not a lot of water but made it through the storms.  My van is a bit of a beater so I don't care too much about the dripping.

For two kayaks I guess the price would double on the wings...

Seems to be the cheapest route I've found but you be the judge of safety in transport... :smt006

Do you remove them when not in use?

I have, but no need on my end, I've only removed them if I feel they might get grabbed...I guess the fact that they are removable is good.  I've also gotten used to the interior straps hanging over my head, oh the price we pay to get some...nbd...

I have something similar to tote my big blue water spearguns in when traveling in Mexico. I’m familiar with the interior strap decapitating potential  :smt044

I bought a used Thule rack and bars way back for Honda Civic and carried my T13 and Malibu Two on them with no problems.
I think I still have the bars. Happy to donate them to the cause if you want them.

That would be very cool if you’d think they’d work.

Looking at the picture of car, the roof length appears short.
Not enough space would be available between cross racks to keep kayaks from bouncing in wind etc.
I would get a Trailer hitch installed
Use one cross bar on roof, as far forward as possible. Then use a hitch rack to hold back of kayaks

I can see that...I was wondering about the short roof but the end ropes would hold it steady?
