Thanks, I've spent  lots of time in the ocean on all kinds of water craft.(surfboards - commercial  fishing boats)  I should  be  completely prepared for possibilities.  I like the eab and flow of the ocean,  it the rivers  constant flow that scares me.

Sounds like you do a lot in the water. If you're into spearfishing, as I'd expect you did in HI, let me know! I live in Pacific Grove and dive pretty often (from the yak). If hook and line only is your gig, you're in the right place. NCKA is chalked full of resources and salty yakkers. Make sure to practice yak safety.
