Sorry for the non yak report but I just wanted to share this with you guys.

I took the old man out for a trip on the ocean last Saturday. We rented a boat off the SC Wharf. Showed up at 6am and got our boat in the water ASAP. It was overcast with swell in the 5-6ft range. The winds were light in the morning but picked up around 11am.

We started off fishing at the mile buoy but didn't get so much as a bite. We then moved north and started catching fish right away. Dad was the first to put a fish in the boat. He got a small rock fish. He then proceeded to put a few more in the boat. Sorry no pics of Dad's fish.

I got a small ling, about 21" or so that I tossed back. I then hooked this just barely legal ling. He went 24.2". He was puking up an octopus when I hauled him in the boat

Then I got what felt like a pretty good tug on my line. I set the hook and this guy battled me for a good 4 minutes

My limit for the day

10lbs My biggest ling so far

We got off the water at noon. All in all it was a great day on the water with my Father. He brought home 4 rock fish. 2 legal lings and 1 small rock for me.

Fish tacos for Fathers Day!!!!

Great report and pics, man. It's always nice to spend time with pops on the water. Too bad my father doesn't fish.
I use to fish the SC skiffs alot the last few years. We usually do pretty good.

Just gotta find'em, Mooch...

Thanks guys

what's what that bluish color?  :smt017

Didn't you hear about that nuclear submarine that sank in the Monterey Bay back in the 80's? We've had blue ling cod ever since...
