noobs going to bean hollow is not a good thing.

I never said that it's a safe place for a noob. I was simply asked where "I" would go  :smt002

I had a really nice time out there paddlin around.  It was very relaxing and with the hope of WSB it was worth a try.  Sucks that none of us got any sleep the night before and it was really cold and windy at Moss...

I agree with Mooch on the crowds and hassles of Capitola and SC and, to be fair, tons of other places to less or worse degrees.  A place that is nice for beginners is Monterey/Pacific Grove.  There will be closures soon but for now you can launch at Monterey Bay Kayaks (MBK), Lovers Pt, Otter Cove, Coral St Beach, Arena St Beach and Spanish Bay(sometimes).  All of them have easy parking and most are easy launches and pretty decent fishing.  You see houses vs cliffs from all those spots but, on the plus side, the shoreline has a popular walking trail, there is some (but not bad) boat traffic and the coast guard is near-by making it that much better for newbies.

Fishing is cool
