Shit-O-Dear!!!  I drove 20 miles to see our nine foot high/low difference in Crescent City! I guess I need to make another trip to Alaska to see their King Tides.

Made me wonder where they have the biggest tide swings, and here's the answer:

We have family friends that live in Juneau.  Chatham Strait seems to always be moving  like a mofo. That's a huge tide swing though and makes me wonder about those little fishing villages and the lil coves and harbors they dock up in.

Australia has some gnarly tide movements 18’-20’.  Closer to the poles the more water moves.

Serious stuff!
during my brief stints there I did hear of several people drowning while clamming in the mudflats during the minus tides, stuck in the mud and hypothermia got them.
Saw a 4 wheeler being buried once as we drove around the Turnagain arm.

and we once got caught in a tidal rip because we lagged on getting around a fjord point and missed the slack. Two single sea kayaks loaded with gear, and suddenly an actual whirlpool about 20' across opens up next to us. I paddled for all I was worth just to get to the inside. That was spooky.
