Excellent.

Can we get some details?  Location, lure (or bait), depth and distance from shore.....

Thanks.

Chris - that fish was HE-UGE  :jawdrop  Congratulations on your catch - wish I had been there earlier to watch you land it on that BIG surf. Hope the pics come through!

Jason, thanks for the tip  :smt023

--------------------------------------------------------------

Jason and I fished the surf for about an hour at Pacifica this morning - nothing caught but worth the try. I will keep trying...now that I see a lot of other guys catching 'em out there!

:smt041  .... and I thought I was the only geek watching "The Deadliest Catch" --  a Discovery Channel reality show on commercial crabbing.

It's a dangerous job, but those deckhands earned $10,000 to $27,000 each for 5 days of work.  Hmmm... :smt017

10g-27g for 5 days

vs.

survival rate of a couple hours in a life raft(can't remember exactly how many), 10 minutes in a survival suit and 1-2 minutes in regular deck working gear.

Call me a candy ass but I think the possibility of a horrific death outweighs the fininacial upside  :smt003 Those boys earned every bit of the money they were paid, thats some bust ass work.

I think I will be in withdrawl when it is over. I have tivo so I will watch the last episode tonight.  Tivo means I can fish whenever I want and still watch my favorite shows.  If you don't have it, get it.

Injury rate of 100%

No thanks.

6 people DIED during the filming of that season.

It would take a LOT more than 30 grand to get me on one of those death traps.

I wonder how much the skipper makes.
