 we launched from the south ramp @ 5am trolled and cast&retrieved little rubber shad up and down the southeast coastline from crappiecove to the damn til 10:30am. Did not see any baitboils nor catch any fish. Buried tupperware treasure chest full of coins and candy. Drew map to chest. Plan to come back with 5yr old daughter and find lost treasure of shodukai pirates.

What a fun time she will have, and years from now (hopefully 20!) she will delight in telling her children the story about that special moment. WTG, Dad!

What ever...If it's only 1 or 2 peeps interested, it's still an awesome adventure. I will get my tupper-ware ready for hiding tomorrow and hide by Monday 6/11/07.

Geocacher here too. My geocaching name is VyCache. I've got several caches hidden in the Arcata area, though I haven't been up there in a few months since I moved to Fort Bragg in December.

Here too. User name GeoSharks. Started in 2002. I think we have a little over 1,100 finds. Got boring, they all looked the same after a while. Caching was our "Plan B" when we traveled. Also a good way to teach the kids and wife how to use a gps. My favorite was a scuba cache in Maui.

SO WHEN YOU HUNT GEOCACHES DO THEY BURY THE TREASURE UNDERGROUND. I THOUGHT GPS WAS ONLY ACCURATE TO 10 FT OR SO. IT SEEMS LIKE IT WOULD INVOLVE SOME SERIOUS SHOVELING SKILLS. IT WOULD BE COOL IF THE TREASURE COULD BE SUBMERGED 10-20FT BELOW THE WATER SURFACE. THEN WE COULD USE OUR GPS AND FISHFINDERS TO FIND THE TREASURE AND OUR FISHING POLES TO RETRIEVE IT.

Never thought of an underwater cache. Very cool idea.
