Hey everyone, new member from petaluma here, I have been boating and fishing on the Petaluma river and around the bay since I was a kid, i have recently been going out with a friend on his yaks and have been hooked so to speak. In the market now to pick up my own.. look forward to sharing my experience with my first kayak and learn from everyone.

Cheers!

Welcome Ben.  What kayaks are you looking at? I'm in the market for a pedal and have been doing as much research and talking to people as I can; I like to gauge opinions.

Thanks everyone! - I am actually looking at a Pedal kayak as well, I am kind of leaning towards the Hobie line either a revo 13 or outback is where im looking at the moment .. I paddled one of the older adventure 16's a long time ago and i remember liking it a lot... I do want something a little shorter for the sloughs and seems like the outback is more geared towards fishing which is my primary without getting into the Pro Angler price territory.  But my opinion is based on a very limited experience with kayaks.. I have always been on the water in boats... I consider myself a noob here  :smt001

Hello Ben. I'm hoping to give sturgeon a try outta the black point area sometime. Does that area produce? Also I have a hobie and love it. Definitely worth every penny. The new outback seems pretty cool. I will say that the more time I spend on my yak the more I get rid of all the dumb accessories I don't need. My revo 13 has all the space I need and is fairly light
