Went to the AR to chase down a few stripers. On the water at 8:30am, off at 11:30am. Water level looks lower than the last time I was there...and it's real green. The vis was terrible, couldn't see the bottom @ 8ft depth. I made a slow drift down river as fas as the riffles below the H St. bridge. Almost got pulled into the riffles and had to paddle like hell to get back to the slower water. Now I remember why I don't go past that bridge.

I thew a variety of spooks, p-poppers and x-raps for nothing. Saw the wake of one fish cruise by my spook for a look. Later I anchored at the pump and soaked sardines, all for nothing.

What do you post when you don't have fish photos? Pics of the river and wildlife of course:

Nice guy here. He took a healthy dump as I hit the button. Action shot!

On the way down, I was next to the pump. A voice from above yelled at me and scared me enough to make me jump. I looked around and didn't see anyone. Was it the voices in my head from the '70's? God, is that you again? No..it was a pump tech way up high on the platform. He asked how I was doing and we had a nice chat at yelling levels. He explained the pump to me and said I could take a tour if I called ahead. He yelled the number to me, but I forgot to bring a pen and a post-it.

The AR is a tough place to fish. Unless the fish are stacked up in there I am not sure I am going to give it a shot.
When I hear of a ton of shad in there I will go then.

Mike: Less shad on the ff today than the weekend you were there.

I'm not sure if we'll get anything stacked up in there if the water level keeps dropping.

Time to hit the delta instead. Throw some frogs out there for the LMB. I think I'll go there tomorrow.
