Hi,  I’ve only kayak fished in the delta, local lakes and reservoirs.  I usually just wear shorts and a tee shirt and of course a PFD.  I am thinking about possibly joining some NCKA members in the ocean some day and don’t know how to dress for kayak fishing in the ocean. What base layers, outer layers, etc. should I wear? thx.

The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope.  ~John Buchan

Even on the hottest days I've never worn shorts and a tee. Would be nice though!

I did, once only, and just this year.  My legs got cold due to water splash from the paddle.  Even in the tropics I'll wear long  'quick dry' pants to avoid sunburn.

I have seen you wear shorts in the surf while it is still dark out!
