I have been using a Kokatat Gortex drysuit for several years and have never had a complaint.  I sent it to Kokatat earlier this week to have the gaskets replaced for the second time.  After prepaying both the return freight and the $150+ for the work, I received an email from Kokatat this morning, informing me that they would be sending me a brand new suit due to an issue with fabric de-lamination.  It really does pay to do business with a great American company! In addition to the new suit, they are refunding me for the prepaid repairs.  The price of the new suit would be $1175 if I were to purchase it.

Kokatat is great.

Last year I sent in my paddling suit to repair a pinhole leak in one of the booties. They fixed that and also replaced the main zipper, which I didn’t even realize had any issue.
I don't like stuff that sucks.

Can you tell me what on-line sites and season are best for pricing Kokatat suits.   I'm interested in purchasing a nice breathable suit but they are not cheap.  Thanks!

Nothing is better than quality products and great customer service to back it up.
I bought my dry pants in 2013 got a leak. So, I put it away in the garage and forgot about it for two years. I was about to throw it out. I called Kolkata and the rep walked me through the return proces on their web site. And a week later got a brand new pair in the mail free of charge.
And that’s Kokatat for you👍

Check backcountry.com and rei.com regularly for sales. They both carry the brand.

Not sure about seasons but I bought mine (Gor-Tex kokatat) used from the Kayak Academy in Issaquah Washington.  They have used suits because of their kayak rental business.  If you buy used you do NOT get the mfg’s warranty as described in this thread.  However Kayak Academy is highly reputable and they will do repairs but of course do charge for it.

I’ve been laid up for two months from elbow surgery and still have a few weeks to go. But when I’m ‘in the game’ I mostly fish for bass and go to Tomales and SF Bay no more than 5 to 10 times a season - and that’s where I use the dry suit.  For me the used program was the way to go.  As I recall they had a great selection of new and used suits.
