Hi Guys,

Just picked up an old OK Drifter (2011) off Craigslist.

I fish a lot of the local ponds and reservoirs in the East Bay (from Shore) but can't wait to get the Yak in the water.

Im gonna start in the reservoirs/delta but eventually would like to hit the salt. Any tips or advice on taking the Yak out in Benincia or Martinez?

Thanks for the Add and looking forward to learning and sharing with you all !

welcome!! best tip before you head out on any fishing expedition is to learn self rescue. you do not want to learn out there when you are fishing.

Watch out for the tides and currents if launching from Benicia or Martinez. They're both pretty doable if you're a strong paddler.

Safety first, practice self rescue and wear proper attire. Just because it's warm on top, doesn't mean the water is warm.

Be safe.
