Did anyone try to transport two big kayaks on a sedan car roof racks? My friend and I are planning a 3 hour trip and want to car pool together.

Now we have two plans:
1. One on a J-hook and another one on the roof rack. We are not sure if J-hooks big/sturdy enough for a outback
2. Stacking two kayaks

i would appreciate any suggestions

My buddy & I stack our outbacks all the time, both upside down. If they are models with the vantage seat make sure that the seat bar is at the lowest setting or it will interfere with the kayak on the bottom.

Thanks for the info. I guess lowering the setting and wrap the bar with sponge will work.

I put longer rods on top of my truck and can carry a sportsman and an outback with no problem.
