Stopped at Almanor on the way up but arrived so late in the day fishing was slow. Amazed at how many people I meet at that lake I have obscure connections too. Arrived at Coonscamp around 8:20 in time to set up at a strange camp 1 hour before dark. Awsome setting and facilities. bunkhouses, hotwater showers, and camping area. Bigdog has a great setup that will only get better with time and effort, both of which he is spending an enormous amount of time. Other guest arrived around 2:30 am and I rolled out long enough to introdiuce myself and then crashed again till morning. Dog battled through challanges and arrived later in the AM. We all spent the day getting to know each other and getting settled. Sun morn, Ty. his best friend and I hit Eagle Lake (20 min away) around 7 AM and missed the bite. On the North end (Shallow) you need to be there before light to have a chance at catching the fish before they bail out of the reeds. Mon. a another guest and I hit the west shore again but once again arrived a little late to take advantage of the bite. From the other boards it sounds like it was not the wide open bite expected after a long closure. The time spent at Coonscamp was memorable to say the least. A great project and I only wish more people had 1/2 the dedication Bigdog has toward giving back to the earth what we take away. I salute your effort Dog and will be happy to contribute what I can.  The food was off the hook, we counted 7 different natural/game dishes we sampled and met some great people to boot. I am starting to feel like Keven Bacon and the six degree game- Daves wife Trained my High school coach in rowing for a team of old guys trying for the Olympic Trials years ago. She also filled the night air with some sweet music from her flute. Great talent! Can't wait for the next round, and would recommend anyone's effort to help Dave fullfill his promise to the land.

Thanks for the good words Randall. It was great having you and the boys share my piece of heaven.
Between closing down the camp, driving home and a REAL HARD first day back at work, I am exhausted. So, it will probably be tomorrow before I can sit down and type up my update.
But, in short, even though the turnout slimmed down to seven, we got a heck of a lot accomplished and I greatly appreciate the help.

And, a plug for the next one, I will be going up for the June 16/17 weekend. I need to finish the fence around Hanna's spring before the cows show up for the summer graze.
