Hard to say if he will be in 5's, 17's, or 130's.  He did put in his preferences that he is willing to be stationed anywhere in the world (not just the USA); which may help his chances to get on a 5 or 17
He is very lucky to get pre assigned as a load master, there are many jobs in the Air Force, good he's promised one he likes. Do you know which air frame, C-5's or C-17's? Either way there's a reasonable chance he'll wind up right back here at Travis, where I was stationed.

Make sure he takes advantage of all the benefits that suite him. A lot of the info is thrown at you at once, and it's hard to keep track/remember what and how. Make sure he spends plenty of time researching those when he gets to his duty station.

Congrats to the both of you!
.  My understanding is he wont know until he is in tech training.  He is almost done with week 1 training (0 week was last week) so he has a way to go before he finds out.

Ski pro is right about laundry crew, best job in the dorm, especially if you have a female baby flight or sister flight doing laundry at the same time, lol. That job and scrubbing the flight’s formation pad were the two best jobs in my opinion, both got you out of the dorm for a bit.
