Launched with Zan for a shakedown go out about 8:30 under drizzling overcast, no wind, some 8 ft/10 sec swell and headed to off of Lighthouse Pt.  On the way saw promising signs of bait, some of it jumping out of the water, in several places, birds working, etc.
Just trolled minnow on 10 oz banana wieght for an hour or so and got up 4 med-small blues.  It was bouncing more off the point.  We slowly trolled back (nothing) and got in about 12:30, still no wind, still overcast.
A skiff angler near the point said he'd seen a small salmon jump out there.

I think I might have seen you guys coming.  did you come straight out of the harbor?  both have white paddle blades?

From the harbor to off the point pretty straight, Zan's blades white, mine yellow.  There were two small non-angler yaks ahead of us, paddling togther, maybe you saw them.

Tom,

you are definitely the 'trolling guy!"  do you try to keep your bait near bottom, or just go mid column based on FF?

I try to get it down on the bottom while moving, then up just so it's bouncing, but I think it gets up if I speed up.  I don't get snagged any more than when jigging, and I get it off most of the time, reversing course and pumping and if that doesn't work, gently pulling on the line.
