Reports are looking real good for the Clemente trip. Reports of good numbers of Yellows at the island this week.
Most coming on live squid and on the Yo-Yo iron. This should be  a blast, I can't wait.

Thanks for the report.

I'm gearing up.

If a guy were going to buy 4 or 5 irons, what would you suggest as the best size/color/brands to bring with for the water we're going to be fishing?

Also, what kind of depth range would we be likely fishing?

Good question Erik! I was going to wait until I got down to SoCal before I bought a bunch of stuff. I did just spot a six pack of 4/0 circle hooks for $2.69. I think I'm going to pick up a couple of packs.

I'm eager to hear what Jim says.

CHEERS!

Mahi and the others heading to SCI.  Check out Big Waters Edge.  I saw 2 recent topics for SCI on the Islander.  The one dated 5/27.  The guys got a sweet bag of fish, only 1 YT and the crew caught that one.

GREAT PICS!!!!!

That report is by our local fella, goldenarrow. He posted a report here too.

I'm certainly no expert, this will be my first time fishing for YT, but I was down in the O.C. a couple of weeks ago and stopped by CharkBait to talk to the guys about what I should take with me on the trip.

The guy I spoke to (didn't catch his name but he seemed really helpful) suggested I take a couple of Tady 9's in blue/white and a couple of Sumo Jr.'s in "Scambled Egg".  He also pointed out a couple of X-RAP's that he said would work...Dorado and Green Mackeral.

I hope his advice pays off.  Even if not, I'm sure we'll have a great time on the trip.  I'm really looking forward to heading down and hanging with a great group of people.

If I could only have one iron there it would be a Salas 6X Jr. in Blue and White.

Bill the tady's and the sumo jr.'s were definetely at fishermans warehouse and I believe I also seen the x-raps.

I should have kept the box, but didn't....they're about about 8" long.
