This is my first post. . .exciting!!!

Hit Tomales Bay on Saturday with three freinds.
We dragged some shiner perch around for an hour b4 the wind picked up.  Just south of Hog Island we snagged into two diesel trucks (aka bat rays) that towed us a while. . .great fun, but we're still looking for some big butts up here in the north.

Hey Levi... glad you found the board.  It was nice meeting you on Tomales last Saturday.  Too bad the water was murky and the wind was up... but you and your friend had a good sleigh ride anyway.

My first experience with a really big fish from the yak was a good ole Tomales bat ray. That thing pulled me all over the south bay then broke me off in some weeds.

Welcome to the board.

Levi,

Thanks for posting, at least you hooked into something that day.  I think I had a ray snagged on my sabiki while trying to make bait that day, needless to say the ray one that one.

BTW, that's a nice Jack Crevelle in your avatar.

Erik, thanks for the use of your backup sabiki.  Too bad the wind picked up before we could saw any halibuts.

Jacks are one of my favorite things to catch on a yak.  When I caught my first one I thought was going to be a huge something.  Turned out to be about 6-7 pounds.  All of a sudden the spanish name "toro" for the species seemed on target!
