Is this a decent radio.  If ordered in the next hour I'll have it Friday

I have a uniden - I think the 6W version of that one and it's excellent so I am sure that one is too. I can use mine from sunrise to sun down and it doesn't even lose one blip on the battery. That's not just idle either, normally quite a bit of comms.

Will anyone be there on sunday?  I am not very familiar with the area.  Where does everyone launch?  Is there a local camp ground?  arrival time?

If conditions are good you will often find other kayakers during the season. There are several places to launch from on the coast. You might get some ideas in the places to launch and camp section. Many people will be at Timber Cove Saturday.

The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable, a perpetual series of occasions for hope.  ~John Buchan
