You may have picked a less than optimal day for a first ocean trip.

I went out just north of there on the opener with similar conditions, and it was pretty bumpy.  The wind was strong enough that there were little whitecap wind waves everywhere, on top of the swell.  The breaks on the rocks were sketchy too, launching sprays 25+ft in the air at some points.  I thought the people shore fishing were nuts, they probably thought the same about me for going out.  Definitely a heads-up day.  I only stayed out for an hour or so, didn't catch anything, and wished I had just waited until it settled down another day.  The water was all churned up with limited viz.

I'd say be careful, and don't forget the safety gear if you do go.

Come out on Wednesday instead. There's a good group of us headed out then and the conditions look a lot better.

I have to agree with everyone. Pick a better day, also, there are groups going Wednesday. You should have some safety company.
Live today for tomorrow's sake.

Thank you guys so much for the heads up! I didn’t go. I would’ve been in bad spot if it weren’t for the advise. Im going tomorrow (Wednesday) 😃 ! Hopefully the weather calms down. The forcast says 4 mph winds with 3 ft swells.. i pray it stays that way..

Where are you seeing 3 foot swells? I’m seeing 4-6 @11 sec with an opposite 2ft wind generated waves from NOAA.
