Scored a place near Pt Arena the end of this month. Taking the last part of a friends timeshare. Since the price is right ( free ) I couldn't pass. I have never dove or fished there.
I will be there on the 28th -1st so I need some intel. Launching spots, ab spots with and without a kayak. All info will be appreciated.

Tote,There are abs everywere out there. However launch sites are rare.
Anchor Bay is an easy launch with showers etc.and there are big abs found there.
Sea Ranch is known for huge abs but access is tricky. You need the map to stay on the public trails(available at office),and out of the reserve or someone will call 5/0.If you want to paddle launch at Gualala River and paddle South into Sea Ranch but it needs to be calm.Punch your card before coming in,there have been citations issued there.
Arena Cove has abs, usually better to the north or south outside the cove. The cove itself can be dirty.
South of the lighthouse a large area has opened up to public access.Alot of people have said it was good but I don't know about yak access. Its also wide open to the swell.
You are only a few miles from Elk!

I have dove at the PT Arena light house.if you park along the cypress trees about 3/4 of A mile before the light house and you have A cart  you can ge A yak in to that area. it was on that trip that I met A guy carting out A very nice Ling, and right then I told myself I will be getting A kayak
I also dove (with  yak)at pt Arena cove to the north and all I found was uni and lots of pock marks on the rocks.
 have fun,I want to go.
