Now that the water  calmed I was able to fish the beaches again last night.  Nothing much to speak of at Rockway beach. The water has a little salad due to the recent rough surf but should clean up quickly.

One point to note is there were several pods of birds working bait about 200 yards off shore.  This afternoon I didn't see birds in linda mar but I did see them off Rockaway. From experience this usually is good predictor as to the first salmon off the pier within the the next 10-15 days.   Linda Mar will soon become infested with bait too.

thanks for the report Jason - let's hope the bait will entice the salmon to come close  SOON :smt026

I remember pelicans diving right next to our yaks last year...it was almost like Sea World. Mola Molas, dolphins, batrays, salmon , stripers, halibut , assorted rockfish, sealions, anchovies, tons of king fish and big jacksmelt were all over the place  :smt007 I have never seen so much marine life in one small cove.
