What else can you call it when you don't catch anything? Dave and I went out at 6:30 AM; lots of wind, decent swell, chop - no bait, birds, nada. We paddled hard to get 3 miles from shore=100'+. Great to be on the water finally for me. It's coming...

love to go out over there one of these days, be nice to hit it with good weather Seems like the boats are finding more fish to the south but that doesn't mean anything

Did you go straight out from Pedro?

3 miles from the launch, so over 2 miles from the point, straight out, then came back in by the point.  Marked some here and there, but there wasn't much life.  Saw one PB trolling S to N about 3 miles out.

Blue, do you ever get your FBR's all twisted up in a bunch (on the water I mean)?  Seems that if I use one more than 1 or 2 trips, it will gets all twisted.  I'm hanging a lead ball off a fish head flasher.  Is there a 'speed limit' to trolling w/FBR's?  Stay under 2.5 MPH?

The HMB PB's were a lot farther out today than during the week, as you might have read on coastside. Scratching even though they had all the sea life. Same northside. What a difference a day makes.

No, but my underwear has on a couple of occasions :smt104

The fbr's spin like crazy so if the bead chain gets wrapped around the ball or something like that it'll bunch up in a heartbeat They spin at really slow speeds  Maybe you already do this but get moving and make sure everything's lined up before you drop it down

I tie them with dbl hooks and a short bead chain on a ball bearing swivel

Every time I've followed rips birds etc out from pedro it seems like I wind up going sw

The only times I've seen the big predatory situations out there it's been 4-5 miles out The pb guys are going to that kind of action but there should be fish closer in too
