Fished with my pop out off Bodega Head for most of the day for 1 small king and a few silvers (all turned loose, of course).  The weather was amazing as the day went on, but the bite was very very slow.  The good news is the fish were in 140-200 ft right outside the whistle bouy.  It is very close to being kayak range.  The fish are deep.  Most of the guys out there doing the catching were down around 125 ft on the wire.  We got ours on herring 90 pulls with a 2lb ball.  We have downriggers, but left them in the garage, DOH!  Next time.  A day spent with your dad fishing is a good day no matter what you catch.  :smt004

Being an honorable sportsman is way more important than what you catch.

My parents are on the water right now with three in the boat all around 10-12 lbs. Same area as BigEyedave mentioned. Water is a bit bumpyer now. Fishing downriggers down to 120ft.
Of course my mom keeps calling and rubbing it in. I just had surgery a week ago and won't be able to go out for another week.  :smt012

Parents are funny.  My dad loves to call me at work from the water and tell me how many fish they are catching too.  Must be some kind of parental payback thing.
