A friend treated me to a Fish/Crab combo outing for helping him out with something.
The boat was California Dawn, and 30 of us left Berkeley Marina to very nice weather and went out to the Farallons.
We limited on RF and crab.  A lot of good-sized rockfish, and all the crabs were jumbos.
I would have paid, just for the crabs alone.
The rockfish action left much to be desired, because it wasn't as "fun" as fishing from a yak. Using a 24oz sinker at depths of 200+ feet... just wasn't as fun as using a light rod from a yak at lesser depths. On the boat, it was just heavy lifting... and the fish felt similar regardless of size when pulling it up. Once barotrauma sets in, pulling up the fish was just feeling the weight of your sinker I think.  But the limits were nice, and fishing with a buddy is always a plus.

“I’m going fishing.”  They said, “we will go with you.”
