Drakes Bay

Anyone want to try? I'm planning to try on Sunday morning, incoming to top of tide. Launch at Limantour Beach or Drakes Bay Oyster shack.

 I am curious, have you heard there are fish in the estero? I have only caught Leopard sharks there.  Lots of sea weed so difficult to troll.  It is a great paddle though.

Looking at the map, you can still fish drakes bay, just need to avoid the estero.
Ive been thinking of putting out at drakes beach and putting out some crab pots.
However, I hear the crabs are becoming few and far between.

Never got out. Technical difficulties. Uggg.    I think we should plan a group outing there sometime.   Where to net/catch bait???

I do not have a aeration tank on my kayak, so anchovies is probably a bad idea, they die too easy... jack smelt or shiners would be good.

What is the bottom like in Drakes Bay?  If it's sandy, then halibut might be possible.. or if it's rocky (and 4 weeks from now), then I wouldn't bother with live bait and just use lures and squid for RF.   For my money I would rather drive down south of HMB where you can get both RF and halibut at basically the same place.    But I know you guys live up there.

Also, Pt Reyes buoy is not that far out from Drakes Bay (maybe 3 mi or am I wrong?) and you might scrounge up some salmon - a few have been caught off Dux already.
