Even mom came today. one LDR for her. boys did not have quite the same focus as last time,
skunk for them. We did a lot of switching around on boats, taking breaks on shore, etc.
I took revenge on the weasels and scored a couple DFG-standard-issue 12"-14" trout.
one on 2lb test with a single barbless equipped roostertail (pretty exciting, eh?  :smt005)
and one on micro-flashers and worm.

It was hot by the time we left @ 11:30

here's the boys on the backup scupper pro and then older boy on my scupper pro.

randall, thanks!

strangely one time we went out and all my rods had floatation and theirs didn't!

So I fixed that but skipped the gooping so it's not permanent, just pipe insulation
and zipties.

If I don't watch out I might have positive FAF (family approval factor) going into
rockfish season!

permission granted mooch.

at least I brought my camera. first time for that.

even tried an underwater shot.

and tested that my added float lets my camera not sink.

upon which it starting blinking and acting crazy,  :smt012

it is an optio...   might not have had the battery door in lock position...

fortunately it seems to have recovered,  :smt007

well, I don't know how much more kid fishing we will be doing as rockfish season is
opening up, but maybe I can go freshwater fishing to clean off the salt,  :smt004.

looks like xj-15 and xj-13 have a couple more plants scheduled still.

Adam, I think being a 9 year old or a 7 year old and in command of your own vessel
with a license to kill fish is hard to beat.

One little girl going out with her grandad in a little boat with a trolling motor about bugged her
eyes out seeing the boys paddling around by themselves.

Adam, I think at our age, we got to have the grady white,  :smt004.

fortunately dudes like you and I can fall back on our classic good looks,  :smt002.

but at ages 7 and 9, piloting your own plastic boat is almost as good as being
able to play the guitar or skateboard worth a darn. ask my youngest.
he's the chick magnet in our family,  :smt013. If the skateboard or guitar dont
work, he slays them with his mastery of Dance Dance Revolution while tossing
them some mention of his leading scoring role on his soccer team.
I've been taking notes, but I think it's too late for me,  :smt011

Here's my oldest and my wife taking a turn in the grey boat.
