Do I need an inspection for Donner Lake?

I can't find kayaks mentioned on the signs or website. I'll be launching early before the inspection station opens. Can anyone tell me what the rules are for kayaks?

It would be nice if we could gather in one place info on what waters require inspections and what is the way to get inspected. After finding this web site I decided that Kayaks do not need to be inspected unless someone determines it's necessary. Since I launched early there was no one there to say I needed an inspection. YMMV.
