Anyone interesting in putting in a Davenport Landing any of these three days?

A rash of squid boats are parked in front of the Waddell and my WSB FOMO is starting to kicking in!

I figure we put in at first light, fish until the wind tell us to go home.

FOMO - fear of missing out

Thanks for the report of the squid boats. There's a chance I could come out on the fourth.

Do it KPD!

Yeah, I'm surprised they can pull squid in that protected zone. There were at least 15 light up boats out all night.

Re: the landing, there's a channel I've been watching that stays pretty flat - with waves breaking on each side when the swell is up. Mornings are almost always calm. I've heard of people launching from this beach but have never done it myself. Def a good one to have a buddy or two for, hence the post.

Me and friend plan on going out early Sunday morning.

I've scoped this place out a couple of times and want to give it try, I've just been waiting for a smaller swell. I've been told it's good.

I always catch something when I fish, but it's usually only a buzz.

Weather permitting, Sunday should be a good. I hope get out early, 6 is ideal, but it always take me more time than I expect, so we'll see about that, lol.

Hola amigos,

7/2 was a great day. Thanks for the bait Qball! I ended up with a nice string of rock cod to bring back for the bbq. First fish caught from the kayak!

I'm headed out tomorrow am (7/4) to see if I can't link up with a hali or ??? Hope to see some peeps out. The conditions are awesome right now!

ps - Todd at Bayside said commercial boats can pull squid from the marine protection zones.

Cheers!

Hey J5,

Nice meeting up with you out there. Glad you caught some fish. I ended up with just 3 rockies, but enough for a good dinner. I'll let you know next time I'm going out, hopefully next weekend.
