Happy father's day to ya'all.  My dad is a little kooky but I learned a ton from him. Ignorantly abusive but I still love him.  He's still around and healthy.  I always hope and know that I am improving on being a better dad to my daughters and sons.  I know there are some great dads here from what I've read.  Keep it up.  Also an acknowledgement  to the soon to be dads, the broken family dads, dads estranged from their kids, dads who have lost children, incarcerated dad, dads with children who have special needs, and those who have lost dads. Bless you all! In and Out and the Cars 3 movie today.  My 15 yr old daughter has her birthday today so I will concede.  Otherwise, well...you know... would drag everybody fishing...little hot though. :smt006

Nice post Eddie and Happy Fathers Day!

I had a dead beat dad and am not going to repeat the cycle.
I love, hug and tell my kids that I love them multiple times a day.

Yeah I smother them but I guess I appreciate it so much more since I didn't receive it as a kid.

So this morning I called my Mom up to wish her a Happy Father's Day as I always do. Since she played both rolls in my life.

BTW Also, a reminder that Brothers Day is next Saturday!

That's my life also Antonio. We changed the cycle because my fathers father was just as bad.

My daughter has her own kid and another on its way.  She is an awesome mother and I am so proud of her.

By the way being a grandparent is way more fun.  You get the opportunity to do things better than you did the first time around.  And they go home when you are tired.

Hopefully you get many more years before they make grandpa CDM

Regardless of your awesome heckling loyal ncka friendship style, I can tell by your pics with your kids that you have invested well in your children.  I appreciate your commitment to making things right as am I.  I thought of you first when I said there are some good dads here.  Be well brother :smt006

My father died just 9 days ago in his sleep.
He was amazing, having to deal with 4 boys in the 80's.
I learned almost everything I know from him.

I'm tire of hearing "sorry for your loss"

I'm not sorry.
His life was not a distress or misfortune.
His life was not poor, but touched everyone he came across.

There was no loss
For we are grateful to have had him. And we all know where he went.
The vaul  he left behind is worth more then life it's self.

So, I'm thankful . I hope I deserve to see him again, someday.... but not anytime soon.
...becuase he made me want to live to become a grandpa. As his grandson said the other day "grandpa was the best".  And I loved how he played with them.

You were the best dad for me. And the best grandpa I always wish I had

So,instead of "sorry for the loss"
I say "thank you for your life. I am grateful to love you"

Hey BassChucker, looks like our dads died on the same day.  My dad also raised 4 kids, with the help of my mom.  I also hate "I'm sorry foy your loss" that has been said repeatidly to me.  I am greatful to have had him for a father, as someone to give me all the things he did.
Happy Father`s Day to you, DBC!

Edit:  The nicest card I got was one that said something like "Your father must have been a special man to have raised the wonderful people you and your brothers are".
Not that I consider myself especially "wonderful" but the compliment is that I am who my father raised me to be and who I aspire to be.
