how hard is it to land a fish like that anyways? how long of a fight do you get?

Word is, with the low # of 3 yr old fish in the Sac last year, they are returning as 4 yr olds, and have had an additional year to feed.  Those 4 yr olds might go 50 at the end of the season.

Those fish have to be 5 year old fish.  No way they get that big this early as 4 year olds. 

Interesting...if last years model wasn't wrong but the fish held over, this could be THE season.  Save Jim an otolith I would like a scale!  If you have any scales off of that tank I'll get Josh to have a look at it.

Maybe this will be the year the salmon come in to Linda Mar.

Joel, for the record (again), go look in the mirror.  YOU tied the slip knot!

Short version.  I played the biggest salmon I've ever hooked for approx 30 minutes.  It fought similar to Fuzz's fish on the same rod, which is a med heavy lead ball trolling setup (not a light downrigger or mooching rod).  Can't say for sure if it was bigger, but it was in the same class.  Finally, get it close and I took a step backwards to slide the fish into net range.  Just then, a green fbr sling shots up in the air behind me.   It was sooo close to getting netted.     

That one hurt and will haunt me for a while.

I have fuzz's fish head in the freezer.  When I venture up north to ab dive, I'll bring it along.  Not sure if there's any scales that high up though.  Unfortunately the rest of the scales are scattered on the front lawn.

Damn that's a nice haul.  Damn, I wish I even had the chance to get out, I'm turning my computer off! Damn!!!!!!!!!  Way to go guys!  jtf..
