Stuck close to El Dorado all day. Super nice in the morning and early afternoon. We had lots of strikes but were not able to get one in the net. Sucko. At about 2ish, the wind and waves kicked up and we called it a day. Eddie on the El Dorado said he had 12 in the boat. We had some issues with our tackle. Should be corrected by next week. All of our strikes were just south of Stinson in about 60 feet of water. We had no action north of there.

60 feet of water sounds close but I am not familar with that area at all. Any SF people have thoughts on where that might be?

It's about a mile and a half off of the beach. Sounds like the south end of the beach out from the first big rock, or in between the fisrt and second rocks at the south end of the beach. I've done pretty good in past years mooching there if you can get down thru the kingfish.

Late June into July is usually the hottest time up there. (For salmon)

I was at Bolinas today and I don't think there was much action out there.  Saw a couple of party boats and very few privates.  Heard the party boats were not catching.

I tried to reach Dux from Muir on Friday - only made it just past Slide after a long long grunt

When the four of us launched from Muir, a few weeks ago, I noticed the current was pulling us north quite quickly.  We launched as the tide was ebbing.  Low tide was early on Friday, so it sounds like you were fighting a flood tide.

If you ever want company for another long HMB paddle let me know.

Jonathan
