831 Striper Skunk

Had a window yesterday between some appointments for my girls and myself and being home for them after school...

Decided to take advantage of the time and jump in the surf at a local beach to see if I could get a striper for dinner.

I've had way better luck at dawn or dusk, but any free time to jump in is better than not jumping in...

Dove for about 3.5 hours through the falling tide, through the minus, and back into the rising tide...

Minus tide had it pretty churned up, and longshore drift and rip tides were STRONG...covered a ton of ground, did my best dead seal impression  , and still only saw one striper dart past me super fast...

I blame it on the midday sun. 

Finally got out and hiked back to the car for a few post-dive beers with my feet in the sand...

I'm 0 for 6 so far on stripers this year...

I feel confident though that my windows of free time will align with conditions and fish soon...
