Hi NorCal anglers...some of you might know me as the lobster guy down in SoCal...Jim Salazar or Saba Slayer on the boards. I'm on the state board of directors of Coastal Conservation Association California. Please go to www.ccacalifornia.org to get more info on us.
I'll be posting about a couple of CCA CAL fundraising tournaments that we are doing in So Cal on May 6th and June 10th...you can go to www.battleofthebays.com to register or get more info. This will be one of the first tournaments in So Cal to use the hawg trough and the iAngler app.
I'll post more info on the events and tournaments page.
Thanks for the new blogs to browse...

Welcome Jim.  When did CCA come to CA?  And any plans to expand to NorCal?

Hi Allen
CCA CAL has been here for almost 3 years now...we have chapters in San Diego, Orange County, Los Angeles, and the Channel Islands.
Next...Inland Empire down here then Central Cal and the North Coast...we hope...LOL!
I've been on the state board of directors since CCA's inception here in So Cal. and I'm really pleased with the way the CCA National business model works.
We launched the CCA at the Fred Hall Shows 2 1/2 years ago and we're at about 1800 members and about 50 life members now and growing.
We've started artificial reef meetings with the DFW and are working with Hubbs on the White Sea Bass Pro-out pens up and down the So Cal coast. We've been to almost every DFG Commission and Marine Resources Committee meeting since our inception swell as being involved in the BOEM wind farm (off Monterey) information forums that the state is conducting. We also support kids fishing and marine education programs. Go to www.ccacalifornia.org for more info on what we are doing.
The Battle of the Bays Kayak Tournament is first tourney event and I'm the tournament director... www.battleofthebays.com
Thanks for the warm reception guys!
