Folks will probably want to know what type of fishing you do / want to do, etc.
I fish pretty much anything and anywhere. Not really in the ocean though.

You should be able to get a good second hand kayak with that budget.  Keep an eye on the Classified forum below and on Craigslist:

+1 CL.
However, I found my ridiculous deal on Calguns.net!! There is actually a guy selling a complete set up on there in the non-firearm for sale section. If you are in the LA/Santa Clarita area I can link you up with the guy I bought mine from. He has a few more brand new, non-blem 2106 model Malibu Stealth 12 with Crack of Dawn Spider seat and Paddle for $650!!I bought two for $1200. That fits your budget..

I"ve  got ONE  yellow Raptor G2... slightly used.  great for paddling,, not rigged for pedals..  Would be perfect for you.

( unless your in the 300 lb weight category )    will let it go for  $750.  tax included.   www.santacruzkayaks.com

I got a Malibu X-factor if you want it. $300 comes with seats and paddles, message me for pics. Great beginner Kayak and if you decide to upgrade then you can still sell it for a decent price and get your money back to move on to bigger and better things!
